Mini GP Racing
Minimoto Racing is growing fast throughout the US as a popular indoor and outdoor
sport. Mini motorcycles, just 15" to 18" high and powered by a 39 cc, 2 stroke
engine capable of over 60 mph, provide a great alternative to racing regular
size GP motorcycles.
United States
Minimoto Grand Prix (USMGP) is the currently recognized national association
for organized minimoto racing in the US. It was organized to bring MINI GP
racing into the mainstream through promoting regional, national and international
events; advocating for safe racing environments; partnering with the MotoGP community
and national sponsors to build sport recognition; providing support for the continued
development of MINI GP racing organizations around the world, and developing a strong,
positive program to introduce our youth, their families, our adult racers and our
spectators to the exciting sport of motorcycle road racing.
Local racing
organizations have been created for regional racing within the US. Most regional
associations use karting tracks for pocketbike racing. Go-kart tracks offer a road race
course sized to scale perfect for pocketbikes. Major kart tracks across the country
have adopted pocketbike racing, resulting in safe, insurable events.
